Since more than 10 years ago Bal-Balika-Nepal is voluntarily involved in medical checks and primary health care for children in Nepal.
Some 100 assistants and aides belong to the Bal-Balika-Nepal team in Nepal, which medically cared for more than 9,000 children since then.
Objective of the project
Improvement of the medical situation of children in Nepal
Cooperation with local doctors, health workers und medical nursing staff to enable them to assume the responsibility for the medical checks independent of Bal-Balika (empowerment of self-help)
Support with medical care and goods, as the economic and political in Nepal is quite difficult and complicated
Improvement of the hygienic conditions
Development, support and improvement of the children’s education
What we are doing
Medical health checks (preventive and curative pediatric care) and treatment on location in orphanages, nunneries, boardings schools, refugee camps, with a high rate of unmet healthrelated needs
Documentation of large datasets of the medically checked children over a 3 tot 5 year timeframe
Documentation of quality data ,reflecting the improvement of hygiene and health
Annual medical reports and practical advice to the local community
Monitoring of multivitamine and anaemia treatment programs
Scientific data analysis of local public health conditions
Community benefits,,as we prioritize local needs and support long term efforts

Training and education of health workers and medical nursing staff (empowerment of self-help)
Development of a well-established network of cooperation partners within Nepal
Support with medical goods (more than 6 tons of goods) as the economic and political situation is quite difficult and complicated.
